How I got into insulation
I learned insulation working next to my dad in attics and crawl spaces, and in 2021 I started Thermal Burnsville Insulation Company here in Burnsville to keep doing the work the way he taught me. We're best known for attic sealing and insulation done in the right order, which starts with air sealing, closing the gaps around lights, pipes and the hatch before any new insulation goes down.
Most calls come from homeowners with a drafty room, a high heating bill or ice dams, and some come from people who run small commercial buildings. A lot of what we open up around Burnsville is an attic with a thin, uneven layer of old insulation and gaps nobody ever sealed. I care most about the order of the work, because insulation laid over open leaks or a damp wall just hides the problem, and that's how I was taught to see it.

I come out myself to look at your attic, walls or crawl space, so the estimate fits your house instead of being a guess over the phone. Our install crew does the work, and I check the finished job with you.
You hear what has to come first
If there's a roof leak, damp framing or old vermiculite fill up there, I'll tell you plainly that it gets dealt with before new insulation goes in. Sometimes that means calling another trade first, and I'd rather say so than sell you work that won't help.
A careful pace and a clean house when we leave
We still work at the pace I learned beside my dad, keeping the eave vents clear so the attic can breathe and running the coverage even out to the edges instead of piling it in the middle. We clean up after ourselves and check the job before we pack the truck.

Permits with the city
The City of Burnsville issues residential building permits to a homeowner doing their own work or to a licensed contractor, and it says permits must be obtained before every project, though its list names work like roofing, siding, windows and remodels rather than insulation. That's why we check with your city before work starts, take care of the permit when a job calls for one, and set up and meet the inspector if an inspection is part of it.
